Mentoring training (online)
The trainings are aimed at members of the SPP Geometry at Infinity and members of their work groups who want to participate in the mentoring program of the SPP.
We offer professional trainings for (prospective) mentors. Our focus is on mentoring for women in mathematics (and other sciences). The interactive mentoring trainings aim at preparing its participants for their future role as mentors. More specifically, the goals of the training are
- to analyze the necessity of mentoring and its role in promoting woman in math,
- to clarify the role of a mentor, the limits of a mentoring relationships, and to identify contact points for further help,
- to train participants in active listening and prepare them to adequately respond to their mentees,
- to specifically prepare the mentors for the first meeting with their mentees, and
- to transmit the core values of mentoring.
After the training ends, participants are not left alone in their new roles as mentors or potentially disseminators of the mentoring idea. As a follow-up to the training, we also offer individualized advice for anyone who sets out to launch or promote a mentoring program at their institution.

After registration, you will receive an invoice for the participation fee (payable by bank transfer).
Your participation is guaranteed only after full payment of the participation fee.
Registration deadline:
4 weeks before the event.
Participation fee:
XXX Euro.
For members of the SPP and members of their workgroups, the fee can be reimbursed by the SPP. In case of doubt, contact the SPP.
Number of participants:
Maximum 12 participants. If less than 6 participants until 4 weeks before the event, it will be cancelled and fully refunded.
Platform:
The training will be held via Zoom. Due to the use of breakout rooms, is strongly encouraged to install Zoom (not join from the browser).
Cancellation policy:
Participation can be cancelled via email to jahns[at]math.uni-tuebingen.de. Cancellations more than 8 weeks before the event will be fully refunded. Cancellations that are made more than 4 weeks, but not more 8 weeks before the event will be partially refunded (50%). Cancellations less than 4 weeks before the event are not refundable. If you qualify for a refund, please state your bank details in the cancellation email.
